Angkor Wat is a photographer’s paradise. Angkor is not a single massive temple complex, but rather scores of temple complexes spread across many hundreds of square miles in Cambodia. While we were only there a few days, a complete exploration of Angkor structures and grounds would take months or even years.
The photos in these four galleries provide a mere sampling of the variety of structures. One gallery, Ta Phrom, contains dramatic photos of the jungle’s assault on a huge un-restored complex built more than 1,000 years ago.
Angkor is perhaps the most astonishing example of human enterprise we have visited in all our travels. Scores of accounts have been written and millions of photos taken. In some small way, we hope our photos and captions can help make people aware of these amazing treasures that were for many years hidden from discovery.
