Although we grew up in the mountain states (Don in Montana and Wyoming and Becky in South Dakota), and Don was a television news director and news anchor in the west, most of our “employed years” were in the East.

Don served as press secretary and later chief of staff to a senior leader of the United States Senate -- and later as director of government relations at the Smithsonian Institution. Becky worked at one of the world’s largest law firms, and before that at the White House.

During those years we traveled extensively throughout the east coast, and since beginning our expedition in late 1999, we have sailed much of it aboard our floating home, Sailing Vessel Pioneer.
