What is Freedom?

TO LAUGH is to risk appearing a fool
TO WEEP is to risk appearing sentimental
TO REACH OUT for another is to risk involvement
TO PLACE YOUR DREAMS before crowds is to risk their loss
TO LOVE is to risk rejection
TO LIVE is to risk dying
TO HOPE is to risk despair
TO TRY is to risk failure.

We believe the greatest risk of all is to risk nothing. A person who risks nothing ends up having done nothing, seeing nothing, knowing nothing, and being trapped in an unfulfilling life of intellectual and emotional poverty.

A person who lives life so as to avoid any form of loss will have nothing to lose. That person will have forfeited freedom because only a person who takes some risks in life can be free.
