January 1, 2004 found us in Vientiane, Laos at the Inter Hotel on the Mekong River. Our first log for the year details our three weeks in this fascinating country, including a trip up the Mekong.

Then we went to Cambodia. Angkor Wat? WOW!

We flew home to the USA on a family medical emergency and three months later were back aboard Pioneer, our ocean-going sailboat/home in the Chesapeake.

After months of preparation, we sailed nonstop from the Chesapeake to Tortola in the N.E. Caribbean’s British Virgin Islands.
