This fellow, Al, opened this bridge in southern North Carolina for us, even though the water was so low he wasn't sure the bridge wouldn't get stuck open (causing a problem for cars). He knew that with the tide going even lower, we'd have been stuck for many hours. Thanks, Al. This bridge is the only one of its type still operating in the USA.
