Viewed at sunset from the rooftop terrace of our hotel in Pokhara, Machapuchare (Fishtail Peak), nearly 23,000 feet high, is bathed in pink. Although it's not an especially high peak for Nepal, Machapuchare is higher than any peak in the Americas, Africa, Europe and elsewhere in Asia.
