You Ask, We Answer

While it isn’t possible here to answer every question we’ve been asked about our travels, we have tried to cover a variety of topics.

We are most frequently asked whether whether we miss our old lifestyles in Washington, DC, after having spent so many years there. Eighteen of Don’s 22 years there were in a senior position in the U.S. Senate. The rest were in a directorship position at the Smithsonian Institution. Becky worked in the public and private sectors.

The answer is a resounding NO. We have never looked back and wished we could have just one more day in big fancy jobs exercising power. In fact, we are quite discouraged by the news out of DC these days. It seems there are fewer true statesmen of either political party who are willing to stand up for what is right if there is even the slightest political risk for doing so. That’s unfortunate.
