A Special Section: Amazing Thailand

Of the many countries we have visited previously and so far during this expedition, we have spent more time in Thailand than anywhere else. Don had visited Thailand after an official Senate trip to China. We honeymooned in Thailand in 1995, a visit that further sparked out interest in this fascinating country. As a part of this expedition we became involved as volunteers in a little mission hospital in the western part of the country, near the Burma border. The opportunity to help people whose needs are so great has proven a highlight of our lives.

As you browse through the groups of Thai photos, please pay special attention to photos taken at the Kwai River Christian Hospital. It is a fascinating and vital facility serving not only the Hill Tribe peoples of western Thailand but refugees who have fled their burning villages, evading the Burmese Army’s efforts to destroy them.

Between the two of us, we have traveled in seventy countries and principalities. Thailand stands out as a very special place.
